Phone operator introduces new voice promo

MOBILE phone operator Digicel PNG will introduce a new Free After Two voice promotion starting today.
The company said in a media statement yesterday that all Digicel customers who talk for two minutes at normal rates would receive the next eight minutes free.
“This promotion is applicable to all calls to Digicel. The promotion is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” the company said.
“To comply with regulations made by the minister of information and communications technology on Sept 25 following a recommendation by the National Information and Communications Technology Authority, Digicel will also lower its second minute call rates to other mobile networks and cease its 11 toea per minute promotion for on-net (Digicel to Digicel) calls for super off-peak periods and for calls beyond the first minute with effect from Oct 25, 2012.”
Digicel said it would revise its standard rates for prepaid mobile-to-mobile voice calls.
The following standard rates would apply to prepaid mobile-to-mobile voice calls:
lPeak rates – on-net:  99 toea/minute for the first minute, 29 toea/minute for subsequent minutes; and
lOff-peak rates – on-net:  49 toea/minute for the first minute, 29 toea/minute for subsequent minutes.
