Pies, Kokofas to be tested in POM AFL

Sports

GEREHU Magpies and Gordon Kokofas face a daunting task in their round-three Port Moresby Australian Football League clash against the competition pace-setters at the Colts Oval tomorrow.
The Pies meet Port Powers in the mid-afternoon clash while the Kokofas face the might of reigning premiers Bismark Maritime West Eagles in the main match.
The Pies-Power clash will be an interesting match. Both teams are quite new on the paddock and meeting each other for the first time with unknown qualities.
While the Pies impressed against Koboni last week, Power have gone leaps and bounds with two straight victories to lead the ladder on percentage over West Eagles.
They will be aiming for three on the trot while the Pies will look to match Power’s winning streak.
The Eagles-Kokofas match appears lean in the reigning champions’ favour.
No matter how hard Kokofas will try, the reigning premiers still remain intact and tough to beat
In the women’s matches tomorrow, the Pies look set to test the might of Dockers while West Eagles will face an uphill battle against Kokofas and Koboni should edge University Tigers.
In Sunday’s matches, Cats will face Gereka Bombers and Alavana Swans will meet Koboni.
The main match between Dockers and Tigers should be interesting. Although Dockers are heavily favoured to win, Tigers have shown some glimpses of their 2013 title-winning form.
