THE Pilikambi LLG in the Upper Lagaip constituency with more than 36,000 people in the Lagaip-Porgera electorate, Enga, will come alive on Sunday, when they host their second grand final at Kepelam Primary School oval.
The PKRFL was established by the Pilikambi LLG with the support of the Enga provincial government through the initiative of Enga Governor Peter Ipatas.
It has seen more than 500 young men taking part, which has resulted in the area becoming one of the peaceful constituencies in the province.
The local community and leaders, with the support of elites from Pilikambi have seen a lot of changes in the attitudes of the players and supporters.
One of the sponsors, Stran Travel, a nationally-owned travel agent, has been sponsoring the tournament since last year.
The company has paid for the clubs registration and is expected to support them next year.
Stran Travel managing director Charles Tipi said his company was pleased to continue sponsoring the league to reach higher grounds.
He is also committed to helping the Pilikambi Rugby league become an affiliate of the PNG Rugby Football League next year.
He appealed to those elites from Pilikambi and the province to support the good work of the provincial government, the PPC in Enga, community leaders and other sponsors to maintain law and order and have a peaceful and safe community.
“I appeal to my fellow countrymen and women fro the Laiagam district and Enga to support such activities for a better province,” Tipi said.
