SEVENTY-EIGHT Ramu Vocational Centre pioneer students received their national certificates on Dec 14, 2021, principal John Goiye says.
“They also received their transcripts and references,” he said.
Goiye encouraged the trainees to use their certificates to apply for technical and vocational education and training (Tvet) colleges to further their studies or find jobs.
“Ramu Agro industry Ltd have supported the school in their on-job training.
Board chairman Boski Annis commended the centre’s management for bringing the school to its status to conduct certificate programmes.
Goiye said the centre had registered only three trade skill courses – carpentry, mechanic, and agriculture.
“Since then, it has enrolled and trained many youths in Ramu valley,” he said.
“In 1995, the centre opened up its trade courses that included other trades such as welding, plumbing, home economics and cookery.”
