The Adrian Lam Foundation Boera Sailors have kept their finals hopes alive when they belted Vewala Force 24-6 in front of a packed crowd at the Lloyd Robson Oval yesterday.
Their chances of sneaking into the Cup playoff will rely on its for-and-against points differential after several teams also won two games each.
Tips from the former Kumul coach Adrian Lam three weeks ago set the  Sailors on the right course  in attack but their defence may still need some work come finals time.
Today will see the bowl and pennant playoffs  when the Southern Region Alphonse Moroi Cup continues into day four.
Sailors’ chances are slim but they could snatch a playoff berth when the placings are put out at the PRL club house today.
For defending champions, the Gavuone LB Tornadoes, they have proven to be the team to be beat after seeing off Lalaura 12-0 yesterday.
Wanigela’s also announced their arrival with  a strong effort on day three.
As the underdogs of the tournament the team from Koki turned a few eye-brows going undefeated so far when they smashed Agebaga one 24-0 to keep their Cup finals alive.
The teams that have performed well and are ultimately in the cup finals are Poreporena Rhinos, Porebada Broncos, LB Tornados, Moriogogea 2, Buria Reds, KR Marshals, Miro Koivi, Gaivakala, Baruni Sea Eagles, Wanigela, Baruoro Pythons, TI Lahara, Super Vewala and Nadi Brothers while the Sailors are hoping to grab the last spot in the top 16.
Despite that the Sailors are still in for the finals whether it would be for the bowl and penant today or for the Cup finals tomorrow depending on the final outcome today.
Meanwhile the top 16 teams will battle it out for the Alphonse Moroi Cup with the winners advancing into the major prize s while the losers play off for the plate also tomorrow.
The finals of the bowl and pennants will be played today at the Lloyd Robson Oval with the final day on Friday.
