Plan bigger budget to stabilise economy

Letters

I URGE the Marape Government to stabilise the economy through a bigger 2020 National Budget by bridging the deficit under increased borrowings to cap at 50 per cent of the GDP/Debt ratio.
The Government has no better choice than to hand down a record K20 billion budget for 2020 to stabilise and kick-start the productive capacity of the economy.
Without this bold action, it will be difficult to bail out the economy as cost cutting measures has never been a workable solution for 44 years to achieve any form of economic independence.
Failure to do so will result in severe economic crisis when businesses scale down and lay off workers.
