THE Morobe Provincial Education Division has introduced early childhood education in Kabwum district to raise the standard of written and oral English.
Provincial elementary coordinator Haring Qoreka said the provincial government would begin its education programme with children as young as three.
He told parents at Waren village in the Komba local level government in Kabwum that the programme should effectively and properly prepare children for elementary schools.
He said the use of  vernacular in classes at an early stage made it harder for children to learn English at primary school level.
Provincial disability coordinator, George Lalaoia said the province should train teachers responsible for children living with disability as well.
Lalaoia said parents sometimes forgot about the welfare of such disadvantaged children.
The provincial education team opened three classrooms at Waren, Kopa and Indagen villages and launched the new Early Childhood Learning programme.
Parents of students voiced their support for the programme.
