Plan to improve rugby players

THE PNG Rugby Football Union’s initiative to improve the quality of players will begin with a strengthening and conditioning programme next Wednesday.
This will also help the national rugby union body to identify elite players.
The programme includes a fitness and training camp that will commence tomorrow and run for three days until Sunday for Port Moresby-based players.
It will be conducted by former NSW Waratah and Pukpuk frontrower Allan Manning.
A training program will then be devised from this camp, with testing protocols, before the program moves to Lae.
A Port Moresby-based senior squad was announced to prepare for the start of the programme.
The squad is Alex Haija, Constantine Bais, Joshua Sasangi, William Rikis, Lawrence Kuso Jr, Westley Thomas, Kenneth Kumasi, Charles Maip, Raymond Vagi, Desmond Korpok, Boe Vaieaka, Avosa Kaipu, Kapua Kapua, Monty Diave, Tommy Kivu, Nogo Kuma, Philip Suapo, Gabriel Lovare, Manu Mora, David Moses, Cyjoh Waingut, Ahulo Ottio, Matthew Chang, Baron Kengi, Karat Aimo, Allan Francis, Bete Rario, Christopher Kakah, Daniel Tovia, Heni Herea, Iala Roko, Kojo Ware, Raikarawa Moere, Tisa Kautu, Peter Paulus, Elizah Riyong, Edwin Noki, Raymond Romalus, Chris Hogi, Johny Horope, Buckley Joseph, Benjamin John, Jacob Jesse, Stephen Donald, Emmanuel Auru and Michael Gugu.
