Plans afoot for PRL stadium facelift

PORT Moresby Rugby Football League will be carrying out an audit to establish its financial capacity with plans to give the Lloyd Robson oval and stadium a major facelift.The audits should also establish whether the PRFL has the capacity to sustain itself.These are among plans by the Port Moresby Rugby Football League when it holds it first delegates’ meeting at the clubhouse at 6pm on Wednesday to set plans for the football season.Port Moresby Rugby Football League chairman Labi Amaiu was speaking after holding its first board meeting last Wednesday.However, details of the plan will be unveiled to its 14 affiliates on Wednesday.He said it was imperative that a representative from all affiliates attended the meeting.Among the league’s plans is to auction the 10 corporate boxes in the next few days and complete new sales to its advertising billboards around the grounds.He said except for major sponsor SP Holdings Ltd, the other nine box holders and billboard advertisers were urged to renew their holding immediately.He added that the boxes would be sold at a minimum of K10,000 and maximum of K20,000.Any queries on the boxes should be directed to Amaiu on 7296 7643.A committee comprising associations and the women’s league will be set up to help the football coordinator ensure the competition ran smoothly.The committee would also ensure that games complied with the bylaws, were played on time and records were kept accurately.Amaiu said the season would start with the national Super 9s pre-season tournament.The POMRFL will also advertise for four interested persons with legal background and also from any of the three discipline forces to join its judiciary committee.Any interested persons should also contact Amaiu on 7296 7643.
