 ROADS, water supply and building infrastructures are the impact projects planned to be delivered by Moresby Northeast MP Labi Amaiu under his five-year district development

plan.

Amaiu, who also is the Sports Vice-Minister, outlined the impact projects which he would deliver to his electorate with funding from the district services improvement programme.

The projects are:

 l Morobe Block (9-Mile) road project – K450,000;

l Bushwara settlement (9-Mile) road project – K470,000;

l Simbu block (8-Mile) road project – K430,000;

l 8-Mile four-land bridge project –K200,00;

l 8-Mile school classrooms project – K200,000;

l Gordon Secondary School teachers’ houses – K250,000; and

 l Office building for Northeast MP – K2 million

Amaiu said these projects were important because he wanted to give his constituents better access to roads, education, water and electricity.

“We need to start work on the agendas to bring in these vital services to the people,” he said.

“Now the government has channeled money to the district levels, it is up to the district level to come up with projects with the five-year development plan, so that the money for the people is well spent and projects done well.

“What we capture in the plan will impact the lives of our people in the electorate,” he said.

Amaiu said he had also approved and engaged the services of private contractors and a church organisation to deliver some of the projects.
