THE Pepes took to the court yesterday, showing guts and hard work as they tried to make the final 12-member team to the Six Nations Cup.

The national netball final squad will be named later in the week after selectors finalise their choices.

The national trials started on Saturday, with the players undergoing a fitness testing followed by a series of trial matches yesterday.

Among the 30-member train-on squad was Australia-based Cheryl Renagi, who returns there today.

The trials featured a good number of Under-21 Pepes who took part in the World Youth Championships in August in Glasgow, Scotland.

Junior Pepes like of Kimberly Rawali, Courtney Abel, Nerrie Adula and Kapa Mailia were some of the players who stood in the trials.

It is going to be tough choice between shooters Albertine Ehari, Rayleen Andrew, Mailia and young Jephat Tulapi.

In defence, East New Britain lass  and 2013 national championship MVP Kilala Owen again was on fire, gelling well alongside Kapu Kapi.

Rawali and Adula combined well in the midcourt, with the experienced Richanda Kassman, Marinama Maha and Winnie Mavara all showing class.

The team now awaits the naming of the 12-member squad before resuming with training for the  Six Nations Cup to be played in Singapore from December 1-7.
