I RECENTLY read an article on an online blog that the Conservation and Environment Protection Authority (CEPA) and the Climate Change Development Authority (CCDA) have moved into a new fancy office.
My question is how can they afford this?
Who owns the building, and how much is the rent?
Can the Minister for Environment and Conservation explain?
Or can the shadow minister for the same portfolio raise this question in the next sitting of Parliament?
We the people are doing our part to help the economy.
We are paying high income taxes and increased tariffs for a range of household items.
The move into this building is in my view a slap in the face.
How can you ask the ordinary PNG citizen to tighten their purse strings, while statutory authorities continue to lease expensive premises, and rack up debt?
The government through Deputy PM Charles Abel’s leadership has been doing a great job with trying to turn this economy around. If these allegations are true, it would be extremely disappointing, and would be another example of our leaders saying one thing, and doing another.
