PM’s challenge tees off with 50 teams

PAPUA New Guinea Sports Federation and Olympic Committee secretary general Auvita Rapilla is hoping to raise K130,000 from today’s Prime Ministers Corporate Golf Challenge in Port Moresby.

The PM’s Corporate Golf Challenge is one of two major fund-raisers for PNGSFOC that is held every year – that is the PM’s Corporate Golf Challenge and the Trukai Fun Run.

With the presence of Prime Minister Peter O’Neil teeing off at the Royal Port Moresby Golf Club, the challenge is expected to be an exciting event for all participating teams.

Rapilla said the last fundraising event will be the PM’s Corporate Golf Challenge in Lae on July 14.

“The Port Moresby event has attracted more than 50 teams and all funds raised will go towards preparations in sending Team PNG to the Mini-Pacific Games in Wallis and Futuna from Sept 2-12. We are extremely grateful for the overwhelming support from the corporate sector,” Rapilla added.

Rapilla said a total of K774,000 had been raised from the Trukai Fun Run auctions.
