PM declares Tvet centre for Jiwaka

Education

PRIME Minister James Marape has declared the Tombil Technical Vocational Centre (Tvet) as the technical college for Jiwaka.
He visited Jiwaka recently and told the people that other Tvet centres had applied but the Education board endorsed Tombil.
Marape said it was the Government’s plan to have one technical college in each province.
Jiwaka students will not have to go to other provinces to attend a technical college.
Marape encouraged students who dropped out of school to continue studies through the flexible, open and distance education (Fode) and Tvet.
He launched the coffee price support initiative with a funding of K10 million.
The price support initiative aims to increase coffee production by 30 percent.
The price increase consists of K2 for cherry coffee and K6 for parchment coffee (dry coffee).
