PRIME Minister Sir Michael Somare presented K1million to the Angoram Hospital in East Sepik last Friday for urgent renovation and purchase of medical equipment.

Presenting the cheque, Sir Michael called on the local people to take ownership of government properties and look after them.

“Your government is here to support you and to give you what you want. In return, you must look after these properties so that we do not spend money on repairing broken or stolen items.

“Instead, the money could be used to develop other much needed services to benefit you and your children, now and in the future.”

He said as Angoram Hospital hadsaved many lives of the people of the Sepik River, he pledged to help with its modernisation.

The national government will also carry out similar programmes in other parts of PNG.
