PRIME Minister Peter O’Neill hailed the progress of development in Enga when launching three more projects on Saturday, saying it boiled down to good leadership.
“Enga has major projects (costing more than K1 billion) – the Enga School of Nursing, Enga Teachers College, the Mendi-Kandep highway and the Enga-Mt Hagen highway,” he said.
“Enga also has the best roads. And that speaks about the leadership this province has.”
He launched the K43 million upgrading and extension of the Wapenamanda airport, the handing over of the Tsak Road and the launching of an electrification programme.
O’Neill described Enga as a good example of a province enjoying stable leadership resulting in top services to the people.
He said other electorates in Enga were also experiencing changes to infrastructure, education and health.
“This is what my Government is doing for the country. I want leaders to create unity and stability in leadership so our people can enjoy the benefits,” he said.
The Government is partnering with the US, Australia, Japan and New Zealand on the electrification programme in Enga.
