PRIME Minister Peter O’Neill has foreshadowed a possible supplementary budget soon.
He was answering questions on whether or not some of the commitments he made on his provincial visits were covered in the 2012 budget.
He said the government would hand down a mini budget to cater for government-committed projects. Most importantly would be the K350 million health intervention programme announced by the government.
O’Neill said his government was not making commitments and dishing funds outside of the budget.
All commitments made to the people were within the budget framework.
There were some commitments made by the previous government that needed funding and that might come from the supplementary budget.
West Sepik Governor Simon Solo had questioned when the government would settle the prime minister’s commitment for several impact projects
totalling more than K147 million. O’Neill had made the commitments during a recent visit to Vanimo.
O’Neill, however, said he had not committed any new projects and all commitments were well within the budget.
