PM makes K50mil commitment to Manus

PRIME Minister James Marape has made a commitment of K50 million to the Manus government to start work immediately on several projects.
He presented a K10 million cheque to Manus Governor Charlie Benjamin last week for the West National Highway, which was under the jurisdiction of the provincial government.
Work will be issued to a contractor for roads under the national government.
Marape also made a K10 million commitment towards the Manus health authority for a Cooronavirus isolation facility.
He committed K30 million for the start of construction of the N’Drauke Industrial Port in the west coast of Manus.
Connect PNG road network (East West National Highway) and the N’Drauke Port are expected open up access to a marine industrial park in N’Drauke and soon-to-be-established Manus tax-free zone.
The prime minister hopes to table the Manus tax-free zone bill in the first sitting of parliament this year.
