PM Marape commended

Letters

I COMMEND Prime Minister James Marape for beavering through all the challenges and taking decisions on what needs to be taken for the good of the country.
He made his mark in progressing the Bougainville Referendum, managing the Covid-19 pandemic under the state of emergency and making a tough decision not to renew the mining lease for Porgera Gold mine for another 20 years.
Another important area that needs to be shaken up is the embedded systematic corruption within the government machinery.
Sadly, not a single minister or departmental head or CEO has been sacked or prosecuted within the 11 months.
It so remains a public perception that the same people are still there or being reappointed to rub each other’s back without any concern for the country but only for themselves.
Therefore, the Government needs to gain public confidence by allowing transparency, accountability and rule of law to prevail over any allegation.

  • Yah, LG Observer’s comments are supported here as valid. It is the top sorts breaking the Laws of this country and corrupting the nation. Can the MP check the Heads of Depts, CEO, SoE MDs, etc. big people make big mistakes and get away with it than facing the Laws.

  • “He who pays the piper calls the tune” – has a right to decide what will be done as long as one’s in power. No one is perfect all has flaws thus they are safeguarding their own heads. Sack one and others will easily be exposed. In order to hide their corrupt endeavors within their yard – no one must be sacked. Note that each gov’t positions are often associated with deceits. What gov’t will truly address the deeply-rooted corruptions? If we do not compromise honesty with fear or favor in all our dealings we will be the richest black christian nation PMJM voiced.
