PM, ministers breached regulation

Letters

PRIME Minister James Marape and his senior ministers have erred.
They travelled to Lae via Goroka from Port Moresby when the capital city is under a 14-day lockdown.
Their travel has breached the rules and regulations of the Covid-19.
We now demand an explanation.
The events attended should have been postponed to a later date when the coronavirus outbreak in Port Moresby, Lae and elsewhere was under control.
Was the prime minister and his ministers serious about the Covid-19 protocols in place, especially the cancellation of flights in and out of Port Moresby?
I call on the National Emergency Controller and Police Commissioner David Manning to verify if the actions by these ministers were a breach or not.
Markham people are not happy with what has happened and called on local MP Koni Iguan to explain why this is happening at this critical time.
This is the same action of the three Chinese businessmen earlier last month that entered the country while the lockdown was still in effect.
I appeal to citizens of this country to support Opposition Leader Belden Namah’s call and get the Government to come out clear on the issues.

Andrew Baing,
Former Markham MP
