PRIME Minister Peter O’Neill’s 50th birthday wish is to make life better for all Papua New Guineans.

He turned 50 last Friday, and signed an agreement with United Resources Party leader William Duma to form a united front up to the 2017 general election.

“It’s no different from anybody else’s birthday.

“I’m still working. We just have to keep on working and build our country for the betterment of our children. That’s what we’re doing,” he said.

“I know that a lot of families out there are struggling, a lot of families don’t have the opportunities you and I take for granted. Our wish is to make sure that those people have the best opportunities.

“That’s why our social policies like free education and free health care are giving opportunities for our people.

“So yes, we celebrate birthdays and we celebrate all sorts of days. But we need to take time to think about those that are unfortunate than us.”
