PMVs making illegal bus stops

Letters

PMV bus drivers are becoming a law unto themselves, stopping wherever they see it to pick or drop passengers.
One fine day, a nasty accident will happen at the National Research Institute (NRI) roundabout on the turn from Goro Kaega Road (coming from Gerehu) towards Waigani Drive (when you turn left).
Bus drivers stop right at the corner (at will) to pick passengers who are coming down from Nautana.
These passengers gather around the corner waiting, making it a bus stop.
To the passengers, you may think what you’re doing is smart and laugh as you cross to get on the bus.
But one day you will be crying for a dear one who will get knocked down by a speeding vehicle, or you will get run over yourself.
Adults are doing that and the young primary school children are following.
While our man in blue are stretched with resources, commuters on these public vehicles should be proactive and utilise the provided amenities.
Your ignorance can make you become a statistic.
