THE support and partnerships of organisations enabled the Papua New Guinea Cancer Foundation (PNGCF) to share important healthy lifestyle messages on women’s health, says executive manager Priscillar Napoleon,
Priscillar said this on Tuesday when Airswift announced that it would continue the partnership to deliver the Pinktober women’s health awareness campaign in October.
Since 2018, Airswift has supported the annual Pinktober campaign and PNGCF fundraiser initiative the Pink Ribbon Lunch.
This year, the workforce solutions company increased its contribution to K40,000, which will help the foundation to host the Pink Ribbon lunch in October and raise funds to assist the PNGCF outreach education and awareness programmes for women next year.
Airswift vice-president Charles Pfauwadel said the partnership enabled the company to be present in the community by means of the outreach activities the foundation conducted.
“We are proud to be promoting the message of hope throughout the Pinktober campaign and trust that the support we give makes an impact beyond the campaign in October,” he said.
“This is one of the reasons we have chosen to increase our sponsorship of the annual Pink Ribbon lunch this year.”
During the Pinktober campaign, the PNGCF focuses its awareness efforts through workshops to raise community awareness on cancer which affect women.
Napoleon said in 2020, 300 women participated in cancer awareness workshops conducted in Port Moresby.
Last year, K80,805 was raised through table purchases, donations and raffle sales to support the women’s health campaign at the foundation.
