PNG women’s snooker champion Geua John has withdrawn from the Oceania Championships to be held in Albury, NSW from March 29 to April 6 due to personal reason.

John is eight time winner of the PNG titles and last year created history at the Oceania Titles in Port Moresby by being the first Papua New Guinean to play in an Oceania final.

She lost to Australian Jessica Woods.

“It is disappointing that Geua has withdrawn but we respect her decision,” team manager Richard Whitchurch said yesterday.

Whitchurch said that only Helen Samuel will participate in the Women’s Oceania championships. PNG men’s champion Djorne Fong is ready and will attend.
