PNG faces new contraband threat

Letters

According to my observations, there is a contraband superhighway between Southeast Asia and Papua New Guinea which trades in shoes, shirts, toys, poultry products, noodles, soft drinks, cigarette, matches, you name it.
This poses an imminent threat to PNG’s interests and should be immediately discouraged by the relevant authorities and institutions in the country.
PNG Customs, PNG Ports Corporation and the PNG Defence Force should coordinate their effort to put an end to this.
If nothing is done then genuine, law-abiding businesspeople will suffer.
