PNG Games logo launched in ENB

THE PNG Games 2012 Host Committee has launched the games logo to begin preparations for the event to be hosted by East New Britain in November.
The Logo which was designed by a local final year student of the PNG University of Technology, Rodney Aua features the PNG Bird of Paradise, Tolai tabu (shell money), the three masks of ENB and a volcano in the background.
The HOC approved the logo and finally launched it to begin preparation into the games.
Fundraising chairman William Lamur said the committee was looking at raising K5 million which would cover accommodation, transportation and facilities.
He said K2 million had been made available; K1.1 million from the National Gaming Control Board, K250,000 from the ENB provincial government and another K700,000 had been budgeted for in this year’s provincial budget.
Ten million kina was given by the National Gaming Board early this month to cover expenses but stressed that the fundraising arm of the committee still had a huge task ahead to continue raising funds for the games and the sporting complex.
