PNG is very beautiful

Letters

I WOULD like to express how beautiful our country Papua New Guinea is as I had the opportunity to travel from Goroka to Lae on the Highlands Highway on Feb 16 on 25-seater bus.
It was my first time to travel on the Highlands Highway given such a distance.
The journey with my wife and daughter was an awesome experience.
The cool atmosphere in the Highlands was breathtaking.
Beautiful scenery with mountains on either side majestically stood tall and I had tears in my eyes.
The splendor and beauty of the landscape reminded me of how marvellous our Heavenly Father created a land such as Papua New Guinea for us to live in.
I have travelled and seen places such as Suva in Fiji, Brisbane, Cairns in Australia and Jayapura in Indonesia but I can honestly say my own country Papua New Guinea is one of the most beautiful places on earth.
I took photos of big trucks carrying containers up the highway to serve our people in Highlands region.
Amazing how God created such beauty of the country that I call home.
We can spend thousands of kina to see how developed other countries are but I can honestly say Papua New Guinea is very beautiful.
If all citizens can embrace and respect each other regardless of their tribe or region, young people refrain from criminal activities and work the land, we can make this country a better place to live.
If public servants can work honestly to earn their pay for hours spent serving the country or private sector businesses grow their businesses and employ more young people, we can move this country forward.
I appeal to our good Prime Minister James Marape and his minister for works to fix and maintain our national highways.
I cannot express enough.
PNG – from the Highlands to the Coast and the Islands – is blessed with never ending creeks that flows from the mountains to the sea with beautiful sandy beaches and landscapes.
