PNG juniors given boost

Sports

WAFI-GOLPU Joint Venture donated training balls, t-shirts and water bottles to the PNG boys Under-16 team before they left for the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) U16 regional qualifiers from Sept 9-22 in the Solomon Islands.
PNG U16s coach Anthony Pakakota, on behalf of PNGFA, thanked WGJV for the donation.
“Every little help that we get is a big thing. Whether it is big or small, we appreciate the gesture. We hope that you’ll continue to work with us,” Pakakota said.
WGJVs gender and community training coordinator Grace Samuel handed over the merchandise during a training session at the Lae Soccer Academy at 11-Mile earlier this month.
“It is one area where we would like to help, support and identify talents,” Samuel said.
“Sports is an area where you can develop your physical and mental state and become good citizens of PNG. We wish you all the best. Make your parents, those that supported you and your country proud,” she said.
