PNG needs proper database

THE booming population of PNG has limited opportunities to excel through life.
PNG’s capacity to accommodate and allocate necessary services with standard ratio is very poor.
Our database of relevant statistics are very poor.
The vital tool that is used to propagate the planning of a nation is the accurate data base.
PNG has no hard or soft copy of real data.
PNG’s development plan, GDP growth, population growth, death rate, expenditure, income, unemployed graduates and other vital data’s are outdated.
Current records are set on pure assumption and prediction from the so called government officials in various sectors.
In real life situation, it is dangerous for a country to be driven on predictions and assumptions.
Is it possible for us to fill one litre container with two litres of water?
By assessing this scenario logically, it is very impossible.
We cannot control the nature but we have to prepare to rectify its consequences.
There are imbalances in service distributions that has caused social disorders.
Social disorders have forced people to migrate to greener pastures.
An example is people from the villages moved into Port Moresby and the end result is experienced by the city communities.
Responsible authorities need to act now and increase capacity with realistic data before PNG sinks into the assumption and prediction planning hole created by consultants with over exaggerated cost.
