PNG needs to develop own policies

I WOULD like to stress that foreign-based healthcare policies are not the answer to our unique problems.
It has been observed that foreign-based policies and strategies have no impact in our healthcare system.
Policy makers cannot sit in the office  copying the health policies of other countries and adopt them here.
Our policy makers have to go out and study the situation.
If they do not do that, they would not be able to get a true picture of what is happening in our villages, towns and cities.
To address these issues, it would be better if the policies and strategies are developed for the district, provincial and national levels.
I urge our policy makers to be realistic and develop homegrown policies, not borrow foreign policies as their issues are different from ours.
