PNGOZ Tours, a tour operating agency owned and operated by a Papua New Guinean family in Sydney, Australia, was officially launched in Port Moresby last Friday.
The agency was set up to cater for all travel and accommodation needs of Papua New Guineans visiting Sydney.
Owner and manager Okuk Rogerson of Chimbu, was in Port Moresby to promote and advertise his company.
“PNGOZ Tours is established for the sole purpose of looking after Papua New Guinean travellers to Sydney.
“We want our clients to tell us what their needs and wants are and we’ll try to meet those needs and wants. It’s that simple.
“We cater for budget travellers to business travelers and anyone in between,” Rogerson said.
He said accommodation started from A$25 (K64) a night upwards.
“We started our tour business with a promotional deal of 20 National Rugby League grand-final tickets of which 15 have already been snapped up.
“In the near future we will be looking at marketing PNG and selling tour and accommodation packages for tour operators in PNG,” he said
Rogerson also said he would be writing to the Tourism Promotion Authority to seek some support to explore that area, particularly the backpackers market.
He and his family moved to Sydney last year where he is currently studying for his New South Wales real estate licence at the Tafe College in Sydney.
