PNG Party’s poor performance in polls

PNG was overwhelmed by PNG Party’s monetary strength in the general election and its main po­licy which is to fight corruption.
Some people were hoping that PNG Party would form the next government and continue its fight against corruption.
The supporters of PNG Party were confident that it would be the “transition point” to bring forth anticipated change.
The changes Papua New Guineans were hoping for include tangible developments, effective services and weeding out corruption.
The changes would have been delivered by PNG Party because of the following:
l    Vibrant and young leaders with no guilt and allegations in relation to corruption;
l    Having the charisma and potential to take risk for the betterment of this nation;
l    Does not tolerate re­cycled politicians;
l    No-nonsense and firebrand leaders; and
l    Good and workable policies to bring change.
However, PNG Party will now take on the role of the opposition in parliament due to its lack of numbers.
This drastic downfall was caused by “political opportunists” who have opted to join the government so as not to “miss out” on development funds and to “deliver much-needed services”.
Despite this, there is always a light at the end of a tunnel.
