PNG Post looking to diversify

Business

PNG Post is keen to diversify its core business to other areas of profitability aligned with the change in technology, says chairman Maxwell Paiya.
“The postal industry globally is challenged by the advancement of technology,” he said. “Many postal administrators around the world are strategising to develop sustainable business models to support the delivery of traditional postal services.”
Paiya said Post PNG would be leveraging its considerable real estate portfolio nationwide in alignment with commercial opportunities. The change in service aims to target a range of businesses that primarily is a need to Papua New Guineans.
The company can be profitable.
One such initiatives was the recent partnership with Western Union.
“Unlike before, many PNG citizens are now working and studying abroad as part of the global family,” Paiye said.
“It will be more convenient in PNG through Post PNG and BSP.”
