PNG Power names Koiri as its CEO

PNG Power Limited (PPL) now has a permanent chief executive officer.
Tony Koiri’s appointment was announced by acting PPL chairman, William Kenjibi.
Mr Koiri’s appointment comes after 15 months of being the acting CEO.
PPL said his appointment was not a forgone conclusion but the outcome of an extensive recruitment process that was undertaken over the last six months.
With the appointment of Deloittes as the board’s recruiting consultant, the position was advertised internationally and locally, which attracted numerous applications.
“The board was looking for a candidate that would make a progressive and proactive CEO, capable of leading PPL into a period of business prosperity and a well respected State-owned enterprise, providing quality services to its customers,” Mr Kenjibi said.
Acknowledging the significant contribution Mr Koiri had made over the period he had been acting position, Mr Kenjibi pointed to the comprehensive business plan
that had been developed and adopted including the positive actions that have been initiated to address reliability issues.
