PNG records 57 new Covid-19 cases

PAPUA New Guinea recorded 57 new Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases on Friday, increasing the total number of Covid-19 cases to 17,774.
The National Control Centre in a statement yesterday stated that the cases were reported in five provinces. The National Capital District reported the highest of 28 cases followed by Madang with 21 cases.
West Sepik reported four cases, Morobe three cases while East New Britain reported a single case.
Of the 57 cases, 47 were males while 10 were females. Their ages range between 52 and 59 years.
PNG’s Covid-19 cases now stands at 17,774 with 192 known deaths.
The total cumulative recoveries is 17,384. To date, a total of 147,433 people have tested for the Covid-19.
Globally, the total confirmed cases of the Covid-19 has reached 197,293,173, including 643,723 new cases reported in the last 24 hours.
The death toll stands at 4,212,789 including 9,983 deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
