PNG resources and royalties

Letters

THE resource owners of Papua New Guinea receive royalties of all sorts on a yearly basis. It may come in as cash and kind.
The land and water resource owners of Goroka have not benefited in any way since 1957.
To read in the papers that Minister Maru wishes to improve the Goroka water supply in preparation for the 2018 Apec meeting, I, on behalf of the many silent owners of the resources, gladly welcome the move.
I know something better is in store, not only for Goroka, but for the resource owners as well.
Minister Maru, please have Water PNG take over the management of the Goroka town water supply.
Water PNG then should have the resource owners on their list of beneficiaries.
The six villages in the catchment, as well as the source areas of the river, are regarded equally as the resource owners – whether it is the land resource or the water resource.
