A GROUP of Papua New Guinea students studying at different universities in China has thanked the Pacific Scholarship in China agency for helping them find education abroad.
The group told The National through an email that they were not only given an education opportunity but also the chance to travel and see the world.
Ahleen Embel, from Nipa, Southern Highlands, said studying overseas had always been a dream for many.
“I wanted to come to China but it seemed hard. However, I thank the Pacific Scholarship in China agency for (making it possible),” she said.
Embel is into her second year studying for a Bachelor of International Economics and Trade at Dalian Polytechnic University in Liaoning province. “Studying here has been a great opportunity for us,” she said.
“We meet new people every day and experience new culture which makes most of our moment like an excursion trip. We meet more people, we learn many things because people are friendly to us.” Student Gibson James, from Enga, said he was helped by the agency to receive a partial scholarship.
James is also a second-year student doing a Bachelor of International Economics and Trade course.
