PNGDF engages students in renovation works

THE Papua New Guinea Defence Force have accepted 18 students from the Badili Vocational Centre for job training.
They will be involved in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and mechanical skills and other handy work.
The students will be part of a defence force exercise to rebuild key military infrastructures.
Acting secretary of PNGDF Trevor Meauri said the students would be carrying out urgent renovations as well as major maintenance across all units.
He said there maintenance and renovation work was expected to start on the married quarters.
More students are expected to engage in the training later. “It is a simple cost-cutting measure and smart spending and we expect to maximise output,” Meauri said.
