THE Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) says it is ready to host the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Champions League Group A fixtures which kick off in Port Moresby on Sunday.
The visiting Eastern Suburbs (New Zealand), Galaxy (Vanuatu) and defending champions Hienghene Sport (New Caledonia) arrive tomorrow and Thursday for their group matches which will feature hosts Hekari United at the Sir John Guise Stadium from Sunday to Feb 22.

Local organising committee chairman Paul Isorua said last week that venues, logistics, ticketing and accommodation were all set.
“The Sir John Guise Stadium is of Fifa standard and we are partnering the PNG Sports Foundation to host all six matches there,” Isorua said.
“Ela Motors will support us with logistics. They will provide four 25-seater buses for all the teams, one 15-seater bus for the officials and two utes for the organising committee.
“Telikom PNG will also set up Wi-Fi at a cost of K25,000 throughout the tournament.
“We thank the Lamana Hotel, Gateway, Laguna and Holiday Inn for providing accommodation to the visiting teams and officials.”
PNGFA president John Kapi Natto said he would talk with OFC to engage local television stations to broadcast all the matches live throughout the region.
Tickets will go on sale this week at Brian Bell Vision City, J Mart Erima, SVS and Cool Stuff Waterfront.
Kapi Natto urged city residents to turn up numbers as it was a top-level football tournament in the region.

    • In future the LOC must also consider the local community in their promotional plans. Discount airfares and accomodations to the outer provinces who purchase tickets for the entire event or a package.
We would like to watch these matches too.

      Thank you,
      Senior VP WFA
