PNGRFL sticks with bulk of PM’s XIII

Normal, Sports

RATHER than make numerous changes the PNGRFL maintained the bulk of its Prime Minister’s XIII squad when announcing the final 24-man Kumuls team for the Four Nations this month.
Captain and hooker Paul Aiton along with  vice and undisputed forward leader Rodney Pora plus a handful of senior overseas players make up the core of the Kumuls.
Sheffield Eagles centre Menzie Yere and while Wakefield-bound Jessie Joe Parker will most likely partner him.
Pacific Cup winger Richard Kambo adds more game-breaking ability on the wings and will complement the tenacious Michael Mark.
Utility Larsen Marabe offers coach Stanley Gene options as a straight-running centre or backrower while the inclusion of David Loko should see the Mioks youngster continue his development as a wide-running forward.
Gurias ‘boy wonder’ Dion Aiye, who thrived under former coach Adrian Lam’s tutelage is now the chief play-maker in the side and will need to step up into the general’s shoes and use obvious talent coupled with a commending voice to steer the ship.
The other notable inclusions are ball-playing backrower Glen Nami and Rod  Griffin both of whom have had strong performances.
