Police appeal to woman in accident case to surrender

POLICE are calling on a woman who crashed her car last year causing the death of two occupants to surrender herself to be re-arrested.
The case against her was dismissed in court because of a lack of evidence.
NCD Traffic Police officer-in-charge Insp Joseph Salle told The National that the woman had been driving a Ford Ranger (double cab) number plate BFF 829 on the morning of July 21, 2018, when it crashed near the Waigani traffic lights next to Vision City.
Two people died and four others were injured in the crash.
The woman was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
The deceased were John Lewis Nouaire, 33, from Gabagaba in Central and Fredrick Todi, 27, also from Gabagaba and was the woman’s son.
“Enough evidence and information was gathered but the officers who were in charge of the case did not fully attach images of the accidents that failed the case,” Salle said.
He said police, who had now gathered the necessary evidence, were calling on the suspect to present herself at 4-Mile Traffic Police office.
