Police, army clash needs investigation

Letters, Normal

The National, Monday October 28th, 2013

I COMMEND MP James Marape for condemning the actions of the Tari police that led to the clash between the two disciplined forces.

I ask the police commissioner, the army commander and the government to send a combined investigation team so a fair inquiry can be carried out.

The local community should be asked to collect relevant information on the 16 high-powered firearms that were allegedly ordered and who made the request.

Was the police commissioner notified and did he approve the purchase?

Who are using those firearms now?

The four Hela MPs are known to put God first in their everyday lives.

I am sure they will unite and fight corruption, disunity and have their Huli people at heart to help restore peace and order.
