CRIMINAL Investigation officers in Mt Hagen, Western Highlands, arrested a man trying to deposit K99,000 in K100 notes into his private account at  Bank South Pacific.

The money is believed be part of the K6.3 million belonging to MayBank stolen by G4S security guards in Port Moresby last month.

Regional officer in-charge of the CID in the highlands, Det Chief Insp Mazuc Rubiang yesterday identified the man as, Ray Pimbrom, a villager, married with four children, from Polsim village, in Upper Mendi, Southern Highlands.

He was arrested and charged with being in possession of stolen money under the Criminal Code Act.

Mazuc said there was clear evidence that it was stolen money because the K99,000 in K100 notes were fresh and in bundles.

Mazuc said bank officers discovered it was stolen money and quickly alerted his men.
