Police arrest three men accused of raping pregnant woman

THREE men in Western Highlands were arrested and charged with raping a pregnant woman earlier this month at a village in the Dei electorate.
Western Highlands police commander Jacob Kamiak said the incident took place at Nak village, Kitip, on May 5. The suspects, a 21-year-old and two 23-year-olds, were all from Ruldung village in Dei.
Kamiak said the 22-year-old victim, who was four months pregnant, was returning home from the market at around 7pm when she was held up by the three suspects.
Kamiak said the victim was in the company of another woman but she fled while the victim was forced into a nearby coffee garden and raped.
The suspects were later rounded up by locals and handed over to police in Mt Hagen.
Kamiak condemned the alleged rape, describing the attackers as “not human” and “animals”.
He thanked the community leaders for acting quickly to identify and hand over the suspects.
“We need such cooperation so we can remove people with attitude problems from our society,” Kamiak said.
He said investigation was continuing to identify and arrest others involved in the rape.
He urged families, especially women and young girls, to be careful at all times and to ensure they were protected when travelling.

Women should be at home before seven rather than still roaming around till late because we are in a critical time where people will not respect others. But to those who committed the animal act should be dealed by the law accordingly.
Now a days, women and girls you should be accompanied by at least one or two guys when you want to travel to far distance. Make sure your destination must be escorted so that you can go home or wherever you want to go. If you sidestep any of your local guys then you can get what you expected for.
The 3 rapists who raped a 4 month pregnant woman in Western Highlands province have no respect and love a shameful behavior. These 3 men do not deserve to live on this earth. We cannot compare human beings with animals. In other words animals are more intelligent than we human beings in terms of sexual behaviors. Animals mate once a month only when a female is on “heat” and no other times. However human beings(men) have sex or rape women,under age girls and even babies any time any where when there is sexual desire, under liquor or drug. That is why animals are more intelligent than we human beings. Thank You.
Apply the full force of law on those calprits. Inhuman and coward actions will not contribute to help our country and down to their imediate families. Therefore apply the law accordingly to them.
Maybe the current disciplinary action to such crime is not severe, hence people try to commit and enjoy the punishment. Can the authorities Tighten the Penalties so that people ever tolerate the Law of such crime nature. It is better to Prevent it from happening than to Let it happen and Applying Penalties as solutions.
Today you can not trust anyone even the place where once you call home and feel safe to walk around is not safe anymore…so be carefull and safety is everyone business make it your business to be safe and also be aware of your surroundings even in your own village.
