Police boss commended

Letters

I APPLAUD Hohola police station commander for not wasting time when he picked up hear-say from nearby vendors on a very serious issue: suspicious sexual assault in the police station.
This led to the suspension of the two officers.
The whole nation is fed up with law-breaking by entrusted officers.
We ask where can mothers, daughters, sisters run to when such an officer, and the next officer, and who knows the whole shift, join the queue of trouble makers?
The Government, with its development partners, has been doing so much to address this problem.
Here is an indication the methods/approach used need to be changed – in a big way.
I appeal to the few bad officers: the vulnerable are women and men, including male officers, have a duty to protect them.
The way they are addressed needs to be revisited, so that wolves in sheep skin do not serve these vulnerable gender. ]
In fact, such men should not be in the force, because this constitutional duty takes them to all citizens alike, including the weak ones. Over to you.
