Police car torched at station

A POLICE vehicle that would normally cost about K65,000 was burnt at the Hohola police station on Friday night.
Station commander Senior Inspector Benjamin Kua said there were several possible reasons for the alleged arson.
Kua said last Friday two of his officers accused of raping a girl, 18, in the station were arrested by the “policing the police team”.
“The vehicle was used by one of the suspects that day. I had the keys with me when it went up in flames in the night,” he said.
Kua said another possibility was electrical problems in the vehicle.
He said the vehicle was given to the police station by former prime minister Sir Mekere Morauta when he was Port Moresby Northwest MP in 2002.
