Police charge prime suspect in murder case

MORE arrests will be made soon by police in North Fly as they continue investigations into the killing of a Chinese businessman in Dande village, Ningerum local level government last Thursday.
North Fly police commander Chief Insp Silva Sika said the main suspect was from Popondetta, who was married to a woman from Dande village.
“He is not a police officer but a villager who we charged with one count of wilful murder,” he said.
“He along with two other villagers were apprehended by police along the Kiunga-Tabubil Highway.
“The reason why we apprehended him was because he left a bag containing his identification card at the crime scene.
“Police officers were driving along the highway when they saw him and apprehended him with the two other men.
“The main suspect was charged with one count of wilful murder.”
The businessman was identified as George Hu, 53, from Wuhu village, Huhui, China, who owned a shop at Dande village, Ningerum, North Fly.
