NATIONAL flag carrier Air Nuigini has resumed daily flights to Wewak in East Sepik.
The resumption took effect on Saturday afternoon after operations were suspended in the wake of last Thursday’s mutiny at Murray barracks in Port Moresby.
East Sepik provincial police commander Snr Insp Vincent Pokas, who was in Port Moresby on official police duty, was among the passengers who were on the flight from Port Moresby yesterday.
The suspension of the flights caused delays and frustration for hundreds of travelers, including students, who were confirmed for last Friday and early Saturday.
Pokas sympathised with those affected and assured the airline that there were no security threats in Wewak.
