Police chief tells people of strong winds and rough seas

SOUTH Fly police commander Brian Kombe has warned people of Western to watch out for strong northwest winds that are pummelling Papua New Guinea.
Kombe was speaking when extending the weather warning issued by the National Weather Office last week.
Bad weather is expected to continue this week.
“I advise people on the coast to take heed of the strong to gale force winds warning by the National Weather Office,” he said.
“Do not venture out to sea and risk your lives at this time, when gusty winds are blowing over PNG, causing rough seas along the coast, flooding, falling trees and destruction of houses.
“People should cancel their travels by sea until the winds subside and coastal waters become calm.”
