Police commend security service

Lae News, Normal

LAE police have joined the public in commending Menyamya Morobe Security Service (MMSS) for their contribution towards reducing petty crimes in the busy areas of the city.
Since the company was contracted to guard the Top Town, Eriku and the main market bus stops, MMSS has taken the lead  in dealing with thugs, drug dealers and drunkards.
Lae metropolitan Supt Nema Mondiai said the firm, made up of mostly Menyamya tribesmen, who are renowned warriors in Morobe, had saved time and money for police units to patrol the busy public places.
“They are doing a fine job in assisting police by being there all the time,” Mr Mondiai said.
He said it was now up to the Lae city council to permanently hire them.
Their presence has kept street peddlers and petty criminals from causing trouble.
